A global provider of innovative materials solutions, Trinseo offers a portfolio of biodegradable and bio-based polymers and compounds to meet the demand for sustainable products in sectors from fashion and footwear to consumer electronics, automotive, personal care, and more.
We can customize our BIO series to your specific application, collaborating with you to advance your sustainability goals.
Trinseo's BIO thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) and styrenic plastics contain raw materials from renewable sources. We strive to use second-generation waste such as used kitchen oil and residue from the pulp industry that does not compete with the food chain and is consistent with a sustainable food future.
As one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of polystyrene, we are working tirelessly to realize the potential of this highly sustainable material. Our goal is to keep the material from ending its lifecycle as waste and, instead, reuse it productively for sustainable manufacturing, resulting in a positive environmental impact.

We work with you to tailor our bio-based TPEs to meet your application needs, while maintaining performance properties comparable to those of traditional plastic materials. Our APICOLOR™ masterbatch solutions allow you to apply color to the materials, with biodegradable options available in these additives.
We offer our flagship STYRON™ Polystyrene, MAGNUM™ ABS, and TYRIL™ SAN resins with renewable content. These products - STYRON™ CO2RE™ BIO Polystyrene, MAGNUM™ BIO ABS, and TYRIL™ BIO SAN - provide a convenient solution to further your sustainability efforts. Materials are derived from a combination of fossil-based and sustainable raw materials resulting in a bio-based composition between 80 to 95%. The CO2RE™ designation indicates a measurable product carbon footprint (PCF) reduction when compared to our fossil-based products.
