We are dedicated to improving our environmental footprint, and yours, through our innovative, sustainably advantaged plastic products.
With world-class R&D, our portfolio of polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC) and polycarbonate acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS), thermoplastics, thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) includes a growing range of sustainably advantaged products that contain recycled content.
At Trinseo, we are actively building partnerships within the value chain to develop circular solutions. This enables us to reliably source recycled feedstock that meets our high-quality standards. Leveraging best-in-class technologies and materials expertise, our teams balance performance properties for the integrity of your end-use application.
Our sustainably advantaged portfolio of recycled-content containing plastics marries your environmental goals with the performance properties that you have come to expect. We understand the complexity of recycled material creation and apply our learnings to our sustainable product portfolio for the benefit of the industries we support.

ECO Series Resins
With our ECO series of PC and PC/ABS resins, we combine prime and recycled content to achieve the right properties for an application. Our EMERGE™ ECO Advanced Resins contain up to 95% post-consumer recycled (PCR) PC and can be formulated for a high degree of transparency or ultra-bright white color. Our PULSE™ ECO PC/ABS Resins, made with post-industrial recycled (PIR) material, excel in automotive applications and allow for reduced CO2 emissions — without the loss of performance.

ALTUGLAS™ R-Life
In our PMMA portfolio, Trinseo opens new horizons in Europe with ALTUGLAS™ R-Life, a range of acrylic solutions made from a chemical recycling process. When compared to its prime counterpart grades, our ALTUGLAS™ R-Life products meet the same high-performance standards — including superior optical quality — while offering a measurable product carbon footprint (PCF) reduction. Learn more about ALTUGLAS™ R-Life CN Cast Sheets, ALTUGLAS™ R-Life EX Extruded Sheets and ALTUGLAS™ R-life Resins.
APILON™ 52 ECO
Trinseo received the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) accreditation for three of its thermoplastic elastomers (TPU) - all branded APILON™ 52 ECO GRS - which contain up to 50% PIR content. To achieve this certification, Trinseo has been working closely with its customer VAMAS for the past five years on a closed-loop initiative to secure scrap material straight from the luxury footwear maker's manufacturing floor and feed it back into virgin material for reprocessing.

Unlocking the Circularity of Polystyrene
Polystyrene (PS) is perhaps one of the most common plastic materials that touches our lives every day. Whether it is in the insulation of our home, in packaging such as the yogurt cup we have for breakfast, or fridge lining and compartments. Thanks to the game-changing recycling technologies and the simple chemical structure of PS, it is potentially an infinitely recyclable material contributing to a circular economy. Post-consumer Recycled (PCR) containing PS helps reduce wastes and the consumption of non-renewable feedstock. A versatile material, PS offers environmental benefits that product designers, brand owners and end-consumers can highly benefit from.
