Trinseo Hong Kong Cares for Underprivileged “Meal Fans”

Volunteers from Trinseo Hong Kong helped Gingko House’s Love Project pack and distribute more than 400 lunch sets in total for the underprivileged, at a restaurant on the mornings of November 25 (Thanksgiving) and December 5, 2021 (International Volunteer Day). Gingko House is a local NGO mainly for the elderly.

It all began when Trinseo Hong Kong purchased 2,000 mooncakes from Gingko House earlier this year as corporate donation and distributed them to people in need. The volunteer activities were organized to go the extra mile. More than 200 underprivileged "meal fans," some take bus trips of an hour every day, come to pick up lunch sets. These meal fans saying a simple “thank you” was definitely the driving force of the volunteers. What moved the volunteers most was the debriefing of Gingko House social worker after the completion of the volunteer work, telling us the touching stories that there were actually some meal fans who came volunteering for their peers, and some eventually became employees of the NGO.
