Trinseo + COMMUNITY: Trinseo Indonesia Donates Tank to Serve 30 Families in Merak with Fresh Water

Supply of clean water to our homes is expected nowadays, but there are a lot of people who are less fortunate without access to this necessity. With plastics and latex manufacturing facilities in Merak, Indonesia, Trinseo is committed to being a good neighbor locally and globally, while helping to address solutions to global issues.

People living near the foothill of the mountain area in Kepudang Gede, Merak, Indonesia used to live without the supply of fresh water near their homes. Fresh water in the form of rainwater or from springs is not normally found in close proximity to people’s homes. These people needed to go up the hill transporting fresh water in buckets, regardless of weather conditions.

On December 3, 2018, Trinseo Indonesia brought good news to some of these people. A water tank with a capacity of 5,100 liters was purchased by Trinseo Indonesia. With the installation of flexible hoses attached to the water tank, the device is able to collect fresh water for easy transportation downhill to people’s homes. The water tank is a great help to around 30 families that expressed their heartfelt thanks to Trinseo.
